My Tips For Looking Good From 2 P.M. to 2 A.M.

October 03, 2018

Going out can be a lot of fun, but coming back and looking the mirror may not be. Hours of talking, dancing and sweating can really take a toll on your make up, hair and outfit. Before heading out for a great night, there are a few things I have learned to keep myself looking good, and these are they:

Spray setting spray on your brush before powder
Just give a spritz of setting spray, personally I like using the L'Oreal Infalliable Makeup Extender, directly onto your powder brush after applying your foundation. Then just dab on your powder like usual and your foundation will stay put through all the dancing. I haven't tried it, but I assume the same would work for eyeshadow!

Go for a chunky heel if dancing the night away
Heels look so gorgeous when your put them on, however, I have to suggest a chunkier heel or wedge if you plan on dancing. Heels with a bit of chunk are very in right now, and they are much easier to keep your balance in. That way you won't be shoeless walking or riding in your Uber home.

Put hairspray on your brush while styling
Similar to putting setting spray on your powder brush, a coat of hairspray on your hairbrush can go a long way when you walk into a hot party or club. This obviously works best if you're wearing your hair straight or before you put it up, and it coats each hair with the spray to make sure it stays put.

Do either a dramatic eye or dramatic lip, not both
You may have heard this a million times, but make it a million and one. Wearing one or the other attracts attention to one desired feature, wearing both draws attention to two different places and can weigh on your face. If you're wearing a red lip, take it easy on the eyeshadow with a nice neutral.

Always dab your lipstick after applying
A rule my mom told me from day one -- always dab your lipstick on a tissue after applying it. This will make it less likely to smear and less likely to get on your teeth.

Contour your jawline for your pictures
By contouring your jawline, you add a bit more definition to your neck and separate your face from your jaw. This will especially help for having your picture taken once you get all dolled up.

Don't stuff your pockets
Avoid all the unnecessary lumps in your pants or bra and try to limit what you carry. Either pack a small bag, or if you really only need your license and some cash, I try to fit it all into my phone case!

I hope these tricks help you feel confident from dusk to dawn!
